Artworks in wax and resin

________

by Fiona Endermann

These art works have layers of wax or resin, containing earth, ash, oxides and printed imagery.  They suggest either abstract burnt / dry landscapes or submerged blue/green marine environments. The mixed media contains or traps the imagery and partially hides the layers to hint at whatever is lurking beneath the glowing smooth surface.  Most recent works bring focus to future environmental/climatic changes and the impact on youth.

The paintings are made to be durable and resilient to humidity and high temperatures.  The wax has a melting point of 64 degrees (celsius).  They have been sold to people living in humid and hot places like Queensland, the Northern Territory, and Asia.  No one has ever contacted me regarding the paintings deteriorating over time and I have been selling art for twenty years.

I would like to acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the First Australians and recognise their culture, histories and diversity and their deep connection to the lands, water and seas.  Respect to Elders, past, present and emerging.
